Generally this month is about harvesting as necessary, and tidying up before winter sets in.

- Cut down potato haulms and continue harvesting the tubers.
|
|

Week No. 40 - 30th Sept to 5th Oct
|
- To speed up the ripening process of outdoor tomatoes remove the leaves.
- Collect a few French beans to save as seed for the following season.
- Harvest Beetroot if not done previously.
- Pot up Mint for winter use.

- Plant out Garlic if not done previously.

|
- If your ground is heavy or liable to deep frost penetration in winter, lift and store turnips sown before July.

Week No. 44 - 27th to 2nd Nov
|
- Cut the stems down of one and two year old Globe Artichoke plants, and mulch plants.
