We are now half way through year, yet already we have to be thinking of next year.

 

Now is a good time to take cuttings of many shrubs, and to sow a number of biennial and perennial varieties..

 

Week No. 23 - 3rd to 9th

 

• Sow Cineraria,

 

• Take Aeonium, Coleus, Echevera, and Pelargoniums, cuttings.

 

• Trim spring-flowering alpines and take cuttings.

 

Week No. 24 - 10th to 16th

 

• Sow Calabrese(autumn) Cauliflower (autumn) Oxalis, Papaver / Poppy, and Primula.

 

• Collect Genista, Primula, seeds if required.

 

• Prick out Abies, Acer, Freesia, seedlings.

 

• Take Alyssum saxatile, Azalea, Begonia rex, Buddlea, Monstera, Nerium, Rhododendrons, and Saintpaulia, cuttings.

 

• Divide Muscari,

 

 

Week No. 25 - 17th to 23rd

 

• Sow Alyssum saxatile, Anchusa, Anemone, Aquilegia, Arabis, Aubretia, Broccoli, Cheiranthus, Daphne, Digitalis, Paeony,

Pansy, Potentilla, Pulsatilla, Sweet William, and Wallflower seeds.

 

• Take Hedera, Lavender, and Rosemary, cuttings.

 

• Collect Pulsatilla seeds if required.

 

• Transplant Lavender,

 

Week No. 26 - 24th to 30th

 

• Sow Bellis, Cabbage(spring), Canterbury Bells, Hellebores, and Houtuynia.

 

• Prick out Cytisus, and Kniphofia.

 

• Take Bougainvillea, Celastrus, Clianthus, Conifer, Crassula, Dianthus chinensis, Eucomis, Euonymus, Gloxinia, Lonicera,

Pinaceae, Poinsettia, Schlumbergera, Sedum, and Skimmia, cuttings.

 

• Divide Calathea, Colchicums, Cyclamen, Iris reticulata, Primula, and Strelitzia if required.

 

• Pot up Aloe and Lewisia offsets.

 

• Pot up Desfontainia cuttings,

 

• Plant out Muscari bulbs.
