Much of what can be done this month will be subject to weather and soil conditions.
If the the ground / soil becomes very wet or frozen, avoid walking on it, and delay the tasks in hand, till suitable conditions prevail.

- Mulch the borders with compost to improve and feed the soil.
- Stand patio pots on supports, e.g. bricks or purpose made supports to improve drainage.
- Divide congested perennials if not done earlier.

- Tie Kniphofia leaves together for winter protection.
|

Week No. 46 - 10th to 16th
|
- Re-pot containerised Lilies if necessary.
- Continue to cut back herbaceous plants as they die back and place the leaves / stems on the compost heap ( if not diseased)

Week No. 47 - 17th to 23rd |
- If not done previously; Lift Pelargoniums and prepare them for winter storage.

Week No. 48 - 24th to 30th
|
- Protect Alpine plants if not done previously.
- Complete any autumn pruning of bush roses and top heavy standard roses to reduce the chances of wind damage.
