Place a few layers of agro-fleece over tender containerised shrubs that cannot be moved to cover
Clear away old fronds from the crowns of hardy ferns.
Check recently planted dwarf fern species, to ensure that they have not been dislodged by rain or frost, firm them in if they have.
Lift any self-seeded hardy perennials and replant in any gaps in the flower bed/s
Loosen the surface of bulb beds with a fork, and dress with a general fertiliser e.g. bonemeal.
