The Fruit Garden in November

 

Overview ;

This is a time for protecting tender fruit shrubs /trees by either fetching them undercover, or wrapping them in some protective material, e.g agro-fleece or straw.

 

 

 
 
 

Week No. 45 - 3rd to 9th

 

  • Place potted Figs under cover for the winter months, and protect plants growing in the border.

 

 

  • Lift and transplant vigorous, healthy young Raspberry sucker shoots.

 

  • If not already done, fetch potted peach / nectarine into the greenhouse, or some such protective spot.

 

 

 
 
 

Week No. 46 - 10th to 16th

 

  • This is an oppotune time to consider constructing a fruit cage to protect your fruit bushes from birds in spring.

 

 
 
 

Week No. 47 - 17th to 23rd

 

  • Continue harvesting late apples.

 

  • Place these in store and check over any other fruit you have in store for rot / damage.

 

  • Remove any affected fruit before it contaminates the rest.

 

  • Prune indoor grape vines.

 

 
 
 

Week No. 48 - 24th to 30th

 

  • When all the leaves have dropped, check over apple trees for mummified fruit and remove them.
