Fruit Garden in March

Week 9 - 26th to 4th

Keep a large sheet of fleece handy to protect early blossom from frost.

Take eye cuttings of outdoor or cold house grapes.

 
 

Week 10 - 5th to 11th

Spray early flowering fruit trees.

Apply a fungicide to pears at bud burst stage to control scab disease.

Prune leading growths on peach trees.

Feed Blackberries.

Mulch outdoor grape vines.

Prune plum trees.

 
 

Week 11 - 12th - 18th

Spray plum trees.

 
 

Week 12 - 19th to 25th

Mulch sweet cherries with well rotted manure.

Plant out fig trees.

Feed Black & red currant.

Feed Plum trees.

 
 

Week 13 - 26th to 1st

Mulch wall fruits with garden compost or old manure.

Keep an eye open to ensure newly planted Apple &  Pear trees are not drying out.

Remove all frost damaged fig shoots.
