The Fruit Garden in July

 

Overview ;

This month is mainly about harvesting fruit as it ripens, and ensuring that the plants are watered and fed on a regular basis.

 

Similarly a time to keep a watchful eye open for pests and disease.

 

 
 
 

Week No. 27 - 1st to 7th

 

  • Thin out Apples after the 'June drop' (natural thinning) to increase fruit size and quality.

 

 

 

 

 

 
 
 

Week No. 28 - 8th to 14th

 

  • Harvest Cherries if ready, if not ready leave the fruits on the trees until fully ripe.

 

  • Cut back Blackberry runners if not required for layering.

 

  • Continue pinching out grape vine shoots.
