Check that fruit cage netting is in good order, and repair as necessary.
n.b. Small-mesh netting can easily become snow laden, change to a larger mesh, such as 19mm (3/4”) or check daily and push off snow with a
broom.
Individual fruit trees can be protected, by draping netting over the branches, or by driving a strong stake into the ground next to the plant, and placing the
netting over that.
Place a plant pot or similar on top of the stake to protect the netting.
Apply a suitable winter wash to Grape vines
Complete pruning of Blackberries, Loganberries and similar cane fruits as soon as possible, but avoid days when shoots are frosted.
