Dieffenbachia

  Q
I understand that the sap of my dieffenbachia is poisonous, is this true?

  A

Yes it is true, the sap of the dieffenbachia is poisonous and, if eaten, can cause swelling of the mouth, hence the name dumb

cane.

Keep plants well away from children and animals so that they cannot eat the leaves.

Should such a thing happen, seek immediate hospital attention.
