When should Cape Cowslip bulbs be planted?

Pot the bulbs up in late August, early September.

Part fill 125/150mm (5”/6”) pots with potting compost and plant the bulbs close together.

Cover them with about 25mm (1”) of potting compost and give them a good watering.

Stand the pots in a cool place, under cover, until green shoots appear, then move the bulbs into a light place in a frost-free greenhouse, or well-lit unheated room for the winter.

The bulbs will grow through the winter and flower in Feb / Mar.
