Welsh onions are a perennial bunching onion generally grown in clumps in a herb bed or potagers
They have evergreen, hollow, cylindrical chive-like leaves about 300-500mm (12"-18") long.
The leaves when choopped are used as an onion flavoured garnish, or cooked in stews & soups.
There is a red variety available but the most common type is white stemmed.
Week 13; Sow seeds in a pot/tray of seed compost.
Germinate at a temperature of 16°-18°C (60°-65°F)
Week 20; Plant the stems out 25mm (1") apart
Week 30> Harvest as required.
