This is a good subject for either growing in a pot or in an alpine house.
A perennial that grows to around 250mm (10") high with a spread of 300mm (12"), and flowers from late May into June.
Week 27; Take 50mm (2") basal cuttings and insert the cuttings into pots/trays filled with equal parts (by volume) peat and river sand, then place in a cold frame to root.
When rooted pot up into 75mm (3") pots of potting compost and grow on in the cold frame until planting out next April.
Week 35; Plant out in the rockery between now and April, in a fertile sunny spot.
