Mesembryanthemum
Common name; Livingstone Daisy
 
 

Mesembryanthemum are suitable for rock gardens and the edges of borders.

The flowers as shown here appear from late June to September, will only open in bright sunshine.

Week 13; Sow the seeds under glass in pots/trays of seed compost and germinate at a temperature of 15°-20°C (60°-68°F).

Germination should take around four to five days.

Week 15-17; Prick out the seedlings into cells/trays and harden off before planting out.

Week 22; Plant out 200mm (8") apart in well-drained garden soil, and thrive on light sandy soils.
