A perennial evergreen grass that is generally grown for its tall flowering plumes.
The plants can grow to 3metres (10ft) high dependant upon variety.
Week 17; Plant out plants in a sheltered spot, in well drained fertile soil.
Established plants can lifted and divided if more stock is required or there is a need to reduce the plant in size.
Week 18; Tidy up established by removing dead or damaged leaves and flower stem.
n.b. Take care when carrying out this task, the leaves are very sharp, always wear stout gloves.
