These originate from tropical South Africa and make good specimens for pot culture as well as excellent subjects for the raised garden bed and open garden beds.
As with ‘freesia’ they are produced from corms and come in several colour forms such as red, blue & white.
Although they originate from sunny climes they will perform quite well in partial shade.
These are summer dormant and come into active growth in winter.
Week 7; Sow ripe seed in pots / trays of seed compost and germinate at a temperature of 14-16°C(55-60°F)

Week 21; Plant out in a sunny well drained position.
Established plants can be divided at this time.
